Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Requires experience working with Siemens and/or GE technologies)

At the present we are looking for people able to work on projects aimed at designing and developing turbomachinery components and systems. In particular we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer which will provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact.

Essential Responsibilities

Leads, develops mechanical designs with focus on single turbomachinery components and overall turbomachinery functioning;
Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives;
Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization;
Involved in long-term planning;
Contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise;
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements;
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements;
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments;
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems;
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams;
Mentor others in the organization;
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures;
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments;
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks;
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews;
Work closely with Designers and check internal and sub vendor drawings to insure design accuracy and compliance with customer specifications;
Review, interpret and design in accordance with customer specifications.


  • MSc in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering; 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design of machines with focus on rotating equipment;
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience with materials and repair technologies is a plus;
  • Familiarity with API & ANSI standards;
  • Experienced in Thermal/Stress analysis, Dynamic analysis and Vibration, Creep analysis,
  • Fatigue and Fracture and in managing FEA tools;
  • Some experience with aero / thermodynamic performance of turbine and compression equipments;
    Proficient in using CAD tools, Rotordynamics tools, Structural analysis tools;
  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact with & provide technical support to other functional groups within the company and customers as needed;
  • Driven to meet project schedules and total cycle time goals.
